Mental Health America of Greater Dallas invites you to participate in these events and activities.  Unless otherwise noted, all meetings and support groups are held at the offices of Mental Health America of Greater Dallas, 624 N. Good-Latimer, #200, Dallas, Texas  74204. 

 

Weekly Groups and Opportunites

Our offices are beinig painted - most groups will meet at a different location in the Wilson Historic District for June and July.

Mondays,  

Mental Health Mondays is an ongoing advocacy project of Mental Health America of Greater Dallas.  Please sign up to receive a weekly e-mail informing you of an easy advocacy action you can take this week by contacting Janie Metzinger, Public Policy Director, at JMetzinger@mhadallas.org.  You can also view this week's edition of Mental Health Monday by going to our website, www.mhadallas.org, and click on Public Policy Get Involved.

Depression and Bi-Polar Support Alliance (DBSA) meets Mondays at 3:00-4:30 p.m. at MHA, 624 N. Good-Latimer, Dallas in the 3rd Floor Conference Room. 

Recovery International (RI) meets Mondays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Conference Room at MHA, 624 N. Good-Latimer, Dallas.

Wednesdays,

Fridays, 

Achievement Through The Arts (ATTA) is an organization of artists with mental illness that meets every Friday morning at MHA from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Please contact KeLaine Kvale at (214) 381-0102 or keklik@airmail.net

Other opportunities this Month:

We Help Ourselves (WHO) Training at Mental Health America of Greater Dallas, 624 N. Good-Latimer, Suite 200.  Through WHO®, children ages 4-18 learn to avoid school violence, assault, child abuse, peer pressure, sexual harassment, emotional abuse and other forms of victimization.  Training is for teachers, school counselors, youth ministers, safe environment directors and other adults who work with children.  (WHO)®  is used nationally in hundreds of public school systems, private schools, churches and community centers.  For more information, please call Sylvia Orozco Joseph at (214) 871-2420, Ext. 119 or SJoseph@mhadallas.org.

 

Coalition on Mental Illness (COMI) 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.3rd Wednesday of each month. 

Veterans Coalition of North Central Texas 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. last Thursday of each month.  This coalition invites all orginizations that server veternas or their family members to participate in this coalition.  The mission of the group is to build bridges between local community resources to help returning veterans reintegrate back into society.  Contact Nekima Booker at (214) 871-2420, Ext. 110 or nbooker@mhadallas.org for more informaiton.
