As the official host of the Hoarding Task Force of Greater Dallas, MHA Dallas educates and supports professionals and others in the area of hoarding-related disorders. The group develops and maintains support groups in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and organizes public education programs about hoarding, interventions, service agency information and training. Membership on the Task Force is open to anyone interested in becoming involved.

The Task Force’s flagship event is the Hoarding Conference, an annual program that brings together Texans as well as individuals from nearby states. Participants include professional care managers, organizers, caseworkers, clean-up companies and others who are sensitive to persons with hoarding behaviors.

While there are many programs geared toward professionals, the event is not only for that audience. Family members and others involved with those who exhibit hoarding behavior find value in these annual events, as the conferences inform attendees about how to compassionately help someone in a hoarding situation.
